Re: Additional Rights and Benefits for Activities Related to the Production of Alternative Energy

Whereas it is deemed appropriate to grant additional rights and benefits to businesses that produce alcohol or fuel from agricultural products, and production of electricity or steam power:

By virtue of Section 16, Paragraph 2, and Section 31, Paragraph 2, of the Investment Promotion Act of B.E. 2520, the Board of Investment hereby announces that the provisions under Section 1 and Section 7 of the list of activities eligible for investment promotion attached to the Board of Investment Announcement No. 2/2543, dated 1 August 2000, regarding types, sizes and conditions of activities eligible for promotion, shall be amended as follows:

1.Conditions of Activity 1.26 to be supplemented by the following provisions as Clause 2:

1.26 Manufacture of alcohol or fuel from agricultural products	2. Classified as a priority activity of special importance and benefit to the country. The projects will not be subject to the cap on the amount of corporate income tax exemption specified in Paragraph 2 of Section 31.

Conditions of Activity 7.1 to be supplemented by the following provisions as Clause 5:
