This Notification specifies the energy consumption standards for star labeled household frost free refrigerators.
Efficiency
EE standards for appliances: 
Every household frost free refrigerator being manufactured, commercially purchased or sold in India shall- (i) (Meet the compliance requirements as specified in clause 5 of IS 15750:2006; (ii) meet the performance requirements of the pull down temperature test as per clause 5.2.2. of IS 15750:2006. (iii) all units within a model be required to meet the pull-down test and as applicable, a test report for a single unit required to confirm this for the purposes of energy labelling; (iv) either carry BIS certification mark or the manufacturer should be certified against ISO 9000 or above.
EE labeling: 
The label to be affixed to household frost free refrigerator shall display a maximum of five stars with an interval of one star and these household frost free refrigerators shall be rated from star one to star five based on their relative efficiencies.
