Overall Summary: 
The basic aims of the NFP are to promote sustainably meeting of the public expectations from the country’s forests in a the long term, provide means to harmonize the forest management policies into the government policy instruments and rapid structural changes and, to identify the challenges and means for development of institutional and legal framework for national forest management. The Plan first provides for an overview of the forestry sector in Azerabaijan, it the details the current challenges, and the National Forestry Programme.
