ENERGY CONSERVATION ACT (CHAPTER 92C)

ENERGY CONSERVATION (EXEMPTION FOR REGISTRABLE LAMPS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77 of the Energy Conservation Act, the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Energy Conservation (Exemption for Registrable Lamps) (Amendment) Order 2017 and comes into operation on 1 January 2018.

Amendment of paragraph 1

2. Paragraph 1 of the Energy Conservation (Exemption for Registrable Lamps) Order 2015 (G.N. No. S 399/2015) (called in this Order the principal Order) is amended by deleting the word “Registrable” and substituting the word “Regulated”.

Amendment of paragraph 2

3. Paragraph 2 of the principal Order is amended —

by deleting the word “registrable” in the definition of “developer supply agreement” and substituting the word “regulated”; and

by deleting the definitions of “in‑stock registrable lamp” and “registrable lamp” and substituting the following definitions:

“ “in‑stock regulated lamp” means a regulated lamp imported into Singapore or manufactured in

Singapore —

(a) before 1 July 2015; or

(b) in respect of which the agreement to import or manufacture the lamp is entered into before 1 July 2015;

“regulated lamp” means a lamp mentioned in paragraph 2(c) of the Energy Conservation (Prescribed Regulated Goods) Order 2017 (G.N. No. S 747/2017).”.

Amendment of paragraph 3

4. Paragraph 3 of the principal Order is amended by deleting the word “registrable” and substituting the word “regulated”.

Amendment of paragraph 4

5. Paragraph 4 of the principal Order is amended —

a. by deleting the word “registrable” in sub‑paragraph (1) and substituting the word “regulated”; and

b. by deleting sub‑paragraphs (2) and (3).

Amendment of paragraph 5

6. Paragraph 5 of the principal Order is amended —

a. by deleting the word “registrable” in sub‑paragraph (1) and substituting the word “regulated”;

b. by deleting the words “section 13” in sub‑paragraph (1) and substituting the words “section 12A”; and (c) by deleting sub‑paragraphs (2) and (3).
