Subject:- Notification dated 02.01.2013 on 5% mandatory ethanol blending with petrol under EBP Programme.

The undersigned is directed to refer to the Government decision taken during a CCEA Meeting held on 22.1 1.2012 in respect of MNRE's proposal on pricing of ethanol for EBP Programme-

2. Inter-alia MoPNG was directed to issue a Gazette Notification for implementation of 5% mandatory ethanol blending with petrol across the country. Accordingly, a Gazette

Notification has been issued by MoPNG on 02.01.2013 and published in Government of India Gazette on same day. A copy of the same is enclosed for information. The requisite blending percentage of 50/0 to be achieved by 30.6.2013.

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 2nd Januaty, 2013

GSR. 4(E) exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), read with clause 6 of the Motor Spirit and High Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply, Distribution and Prevention of Malpractices) Order, 2005 and in supersession of notification of the Govemment of lndia in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas number G S.R. 712(E), dated the 1st September, 2010 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, part Il, Section 3, Sub-section (i), dated 1st September, 2010, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby directs that the Oil Marketing far Companies shall sell Ethanol-blended-petrol with percentage of ethanol up to ten per cent and as per the Bureau of Indian Standard Specification to achieve five per cent ethanol blending across the Country as a whole.

2. This notification shall come into force with effect from the date ofpublication ofthe notification in the Official Gazette.
