Overall Summary: 
The Agreement on the Basic Principles of Cooperation in the Field of Peaceful Utilization of Nuclear Energy of the CIS Member States aims at providing cooperation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy, in particular: (a) carrying out joint industrial activities; (b) joint ownership or operation of nuclear installations, equipment, industrial property and industrial enterprises; (c) implementation of joint measures to prevent a nuclear accident and eliminate its consequences; (d) provision and exchange of information, in particular on nuclear safety, operation of nuclear installations, emergency planning, environmental protection and personnel training; (e) coordination and implementation of joint research and development work; (f) provision of experts, training of specialists, technical and educational-methodological support of personnel training; g) transfer of nuclear material, non-nuclear material, facilities, equipment and technology; (h) development and implementation of joint projects, including in areas such as electricity generation, industry, agriculture and medicine; (i) exploration and development of uranium deposits.
