Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:
1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Nauru Utilities Corporation (Amendment) Act 2019.
2 Commencement
This Act commences upon certification by the Speaker.
3 Amendment of the Nauru Utilities Corporation Act 2011
The Nauru Utilities Corporation Act 2011 is amended by the provisions of this Act.
4 Amendment of section 7
Section 7 is amended as follows:
(a) in subsection (1) by deleting and substituting the word ‘two’ where it appears with the word ‘three’;
(b) deleting and substituting subsection (3) as follows:
‘(3) Of the three ex officio members appointed under subsection (1):
(a) one must be a senior officer currently employed within the Corporation;
(b) one must be a senior officer currently employed within the Department of Finance; and
(c) one must be the Secretary of the Department of Commerce Industry and Environment or his or her nominee.’
