Overall Summary: 
The Strategic Development Plan until 2025 is to support the long-term development Strategy of Kazakhstan till 2050. The document sets goals for accelerated high-quality economic growth and improvement of living standards in the country. The strategic plan until 2025 replaces the Strategic development plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2020.
Efficiency
EE action plans: 
In order to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy losses, the introduction of intelligent energy management systems and energy saving technologies will be stimulated both among industry and among the population.
Renewable Energy

RE targets: 
The goal is to achieve 50% of the share of alternative and renewable energy by 2050.
Environment
GHG emissions reduction targets: 
Kazakhstan has joined the Paris agreement and is committed to achieving the declared contributions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2030.
Energy Supply and Infrastructure
Energy supply priorities: 
The policy of development of the [fuel and energy complex] industry will be based on increasing production, deepening processing and ensuring energy security of the country. --- The policy on the development of the electric power industry will be aimed at ensuring a balanced and sustainable development of generation and transportation, as well as reducing the cost of electricity. The main directions will be the modernization and construction of priority energy facilities necessary to meet the needs of the domestic market and an acceptable level of tariffs for industry in order to preserve the competitive advantage of Kazakhstan's producers in the domestic and foreign markets. --- Measures will be taken to further introduce "smart" power grids/and power storage systems.
Energy mix: 
Kazakhstan will continue to develop the nuclear industry. In order to build a full cycle of nuclear fuel production, a plant for the production of fuel assemblies for nuclear power plants will be built on the basis of the Ulba metallurgical plant in the East Kazakhstan region.
Infrastructure development priorities: 
The increase in production volumes in the medium term will be implemented within the Kashagan field and the future expansion project of the Tengiz field.
