Overall Summary: 
The Draft Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic on Adaptation to Climate Change until 2020 aims to stimulate the transition to integrated and dynamic planning to ensure sustainable development of the country and sectors of the economy, taking into account the forecasts of climate change in the medium and long term. The goal will be achieved through the implementation of a set of short-, medium - and long-term adaptation measures through the implementation of a 2-stage approach, starting with those activities that are necessary to reduce the most likely risks of significant humanitarian, economic and environmental damage and, in subsequent phases, to implement activities for which the present understanding of the risks involved is less certain.
