The Trade Rules for the Wholesale Market of Electricity of the Republic of Armenia (PSRC Resolution N 516-N of 2019) regulate the structure of the Electricity Wholesale Wholesale Market, the principles of activity, the order of registration of participants, the rules of trade, the rules of submission of bids, rules for import and export of electricity, etc. These Rules repeal the PSRC Decision No. 344-N of 2017 "On approving the temporary trade rules of the wholesale electricity market of the Republic of Armenia, amending a number of decisions of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia".

Energy management principles: 
4. The EMF [Electricity Wholesale Market of the Republic of Armenia] is based on the following principles: 1) Implementation of electricity trade in different sections of the EMF; 2) Ensuring conditions of economic competition in the non-regulated parts of the EMF; 3) Application of mechanisms for breach of obligations under the Rules և Transactions, as well as liability for imbalances by the participants of the EMF; 4) Establishment of transparent and non-discriminatory conditions for the import, export, transit and exchange of electricity with regional electricity systems; 5) Export of electricity only after meeting the demand for domestic consumption; 6) Accessibility of the information provided to the Market Operator and the reliability of the information provided by the trading participant of the EMC; 7) Encouraging the production of electricity at VEA EA stations; 8) Ensuring the right of non-discriminatory access to theTransmission and Distribution Networks.
