(1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires: [...] ‘mitigation’ of disasters refers to actions that can reduce the negative impacts of hazards which cause disasters, while mitigation of climate change refers to reduction of human-made (greenhouse gas) emissions (through more efficient use of energy, reducing the use of nonrenewable energy sources such as coal and gas, increasing use of renewable energy sources such as solar power, and increasing natural or artificial stores of carbon, such as trees or landfills); [...] ‘renewable energy’ is energy that comes from sources that are not depleted or can be easily replenished, such as solar energy;
