NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 11th March, 2014
S.O. 737 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (d) of sub-section (2) of section 13 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Auction by Competitive Bidding of Coal Mines Rules, 2012, namely:—
2. In the Auction by Competitive Bidding of Coal Mines Rules, 2012 , in the Schedule, in Part I, under the heading Terms and Conditions of Allocation of Area Containing Coal For The Purpose of Mining, for sub-paragraph(1) of paragraph (1), the following paragraph shall be substituted and the same shall be deemed to have come into force from 27th December, 2012, namely:—
" 1 (1) The coal produced from the allocated areas containing coal shall be distributed through the long term contract or linkage approved by the Central Government or as the case may be, the State Government.".

Explanation:—It is clarified that by giving retrospective effect to the notification, no one will be adversely affected and this amendment has been given retrospective effect to clear the typographical errors.
Note:—The Principal rules were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3 Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 207 (E), dated 2nd February, 2012 and subsequently amended vide notification number S.O. 2008(E) dated 27th December, 2012.
