Motor vehicles subject to fuel economy and vehicular emissions requirements 2.—(1) Motor vehicles of the following description and not excluded by sub-paragraph (2) shall be subject to the fuel economy and vehicular emissions requirements in Division 1 of Part IV of the Act: (a) as from and including 1 January 2018 — any motor vehicle which is constructed for the carriage of not more than 7 passengers (exclusive of the driver) and having an unladen weight not exceeding 3,000 kilograms; [S 211/2021 wef 01/04/2021] (b) as from and including 1 January 2018 — any motor vehicle which is constructed for the carriage of goods and having a laden weight not exceeding 3,500 kilograms; [S 211/2021 wef 01/04/2021] (c) as from and including 1 April 2021 and up to and including 31 March 2023 — any bus that — (i) has a maximum laden weight of not more than 3,500 kilograms; and (ii) is first registered under the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276) on or after 1 April 2021 but before 1 April 2023.
