G. S. R. 801.-- Whereas the draft of certain rules which the Central Government propose to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Coal Mines (Conservation and Development) Act, 1974 (28 of 1974) were published as required by Sub-Section (1) of that section at page 198 of the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section (1) dated the 26th January, 1980 under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Steel Mines and Coal (Department of Coal) No.
G. S. R. 115 dated the 26th January 1980, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be effected thereby on or before the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date of publication of the said notification in the Official Gazette,
And whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on the 26th January, 1980.
And whereas the objections and suggestions received onthe said draft have been considered by the Government;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
1. (i) These rules may be called the Coal Mines (Conservation and Development) Amendment Rules, 1980.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of theirpublication in the Official Gazette sub-rule(2).
2. In sub-rule (2) of rule 10 of the Coal Mines (Conservation and Development Rules, 1975, for entries (viii) and (ix), the following entries shall be substituted, namely :--
"(viii) Coal Controller, Ministry of Steel Mines and Coal,Department of Coal, Ex- Officio, who shall be the member-Secretary.
(ix) Director or as the case may be, Deputy Secretary Ministry of Steel Mines and Coal', Department of Coal."
