The Prime Minister Circular No. 2008/19 of 2008 on Energy Efficiency declares the "Year of Energy Efficiency" with the circular numbered 2008/2 in order to improve the energy culture and efficiency awareness of the society and contribute to ensuring our energy supply security at the highest level.
Efficiency
EE lighting and mechanical system standards: 
- In order to lead energy efficiency studies, all public institutions and organizations, municipalities and professional chambers as public institutions will replace the existing incandescent filament lamps with energy-efficient lamps in the places under their responsibility within 1 month.
EE public awareness/promotional programmes: 
- The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will carry out intensive activities and campaigns for the adoption and dissemination of the use of energy-saving light bulbs throughout the country. I kindly request all public institutions and organizations to provide the necessary support and assistance to the studies initiated on the efficient use of energy resources.
